Objective

As a key member of the Disney+ Hotstar marketing team, I contributed to driving awareness for one of the most highly anticipated show premieres in India: the final season of Game of Thrones.

With the show returning for its final season, Disney+ Hotstar sought to create massive awareness among the Indian audience that the show would stream simultaneously with the US premiere - no delays, no lags. The challenge? Capturing attention in a cricket-obsessed nation during IPL season and establishing that viewers wouldn’t miss a second of the unedited, unblurred action.

Execution

  • "Winter is Here" Localization: We made winter fall in India - literally! We created hyper-localized creatives of iconic "Game of Thrones" visuals with a unique twist: cities across India, from Mumbai to Delhi, were visually “frozen” in dramatic fashion, turning familiar landmarks into a winter wonderland inspired by Winterfell.

  • Bollywood Meets Westeros: Leveraged Bollywood stereotypes with witty references to reinforce that this would be a raw, uncut experience - just as the creators intended.

  • Bravosi Coins Giveaway: Partnered with top influencers to generate buzz through exclusive giveaways. Fans participated for a chance to win 5 Bravos’ Coins as their “entry ticket” into the premiere event. This unique activation heightened anticipation and reinforced the early morning premiere (6:30 AM IST).

  • Memes and Conversations: Our social content featured relatable humor and pop culture tie-ins, making it shareable across diverse online communities.
